Native to Peruvian mountain rainforests, Cat’s Claw was named for the hooked thorns resembling a cat’s claw on its twigs. The Ashaninka have the longest
recorded history of its use & are also the largest commercial source of the plant. This tribe live in the heart of the rainforest and are thought to have taught
all other tribes about the qualities of Cat’s Claw. During the time of the Incas it’s said that the use of this plant was restricted to the ruler & the royal family only.
Cats Claw Powder is traditionally used by the Amazonian Asháninka tribe as a great all round adaptogenic restorative tonic.
How to Take it
Grab a teapot, a cafetiere or your tea making equipment of choice. Cat’s Claw can be made into an herbal tea by infusing the herb in boiling water. Let the
tea brew for 5 – 15 minutes, relax and enjoy. Suggested Use: 1-2 teaspoons dried herb per 1 cup of boiling water, 3 times a day. 1 Tsp = 1g
Quality and Manufacture
When the plant has reached a maturity of around 8 years old the bark is ready to be harvested. After the branches have been stripped, the bark is cleaned
and slow dried so only a little of the moisture is left in the plant material. After a selection process the bark can then be shredded and tested for for foreign
bacteria, heavy metals and other pollutants. When Cats Claw Tea has passed all the required tests it is made ready for shipping.
